empowering individuals to assume effective leadership roles in their communities, developing a collective resource and problem solving network to address community needs, today, and in the future

The Leadership Challenge
One measure of a community’s greatness is the voluntary contribution made by its leaders. The future of our community is closely tied to the quality and commitment of our next generation of leaders. Leadership Fremont, a nine-month program initiated by the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, each year increases a base of informed and capable leaders who are committed to using their talents to meet the needs of our community.

The Program
A diverse group of individuals from all sectors of our community assemble monthly to increase their understanding of the complex issues facing the region and how various governing bodies interact and affect solutions, and also, to build their personal leadership skills. The course of study is presented in an opening retreat and a series of eight subsequent daylong sessions held from September through May. To provide practical application of relevant skills and information covered during the sessions, the class is responsible for the successful implementation of a community project. Some projects include building a playground for a transitional housing apartment complex and white washing the Mission Adobe in Niles.

Tuition for Leadership Fremont is $1,200.00. Chamber members receive a $200 discount on tuition. Non-member rate provides participant a one-year individual or small business membership in the Fremont Chamber of Commerce. If accepted into the LEADERSHIP FREMONT program, you or your employer/sponsor will be billed for the tuition fee (which covers all program costs, including facilities and meals at the orientation and during each day-long session). Full tuition must be received by the first session, unless other arrangements are made.
