BAY AREA and STATE

Job growth returns to California, but 2009 was worse than originally thought California added 32,500 jobs in January, ending a two-month losing streak and providing hope that the economic recovery has arrived. Jobs rate holds steady, raising hopes of recovery The government’s monthly snapshot of the job market found that another 36,000 jobs disappeared in February — fewer than expected, but hardly cause for a celebration. House adopts $15 billion plan to spur job growth The House on Thursday approved a $15 billion measure intended to spur job creation by granting tax breaks to businesses that hire workers.
