Leadership Fremont
Leadership Fremont is a 9-month intensive training program designed to identify, nurture and develop emerging leaders within our community. The quality of the participants is the primary strength of the program, their diversity, leadership potential, commitment to the community, and commitment to learning. Through individual skill development, hands-on activities and presentation of a wealth of information from private and public sector leaders—future leaders develop the skills and knowledge base to make informed decisions and lead effectively. The curriculum is comprised of three components: Community Issues, Personal Leadership Skill Set, and Teamwork Project.

Application Information
Participation in Leadership Fremont is open to any person living and/or working within the Tri-City (Fremont, Union City, Newark) area. A maximum of twenty-five individuals will be appointed to participate in the program. Participants will be chosen by the Leadership Fremont Selection Committee based upon the information submitted in the application. The committee seeks a cross-section of participants who are active in business, education, the arts, religion, government, community-based organizations, ethnic and minority groups who reflect the diversity of the community. Applicants should have positions of leadership in their employment or volunteer organizations, give evidence of mature judgment, and have a strong interest in and commitment to the community. Applicants must have the full support of the corporation they represent.
Sessions
All sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. unless otherwise determined and includes a working lunch. Sessions are held at a variety of locations in the City and is chosen based upon its relevance to that session topic or skill. A typical session begins with leadership skill set development, followed by community issue speakers pertaining to the session’s theme. Tools used in training may include group discussions, field trips, and exercises. Time is allowed during the session for to work on the class project.
