Most nonprofit board members never receive an orientation to their basic roles and responsibilities. As a result, you have amazing volunteers who want to help out, but don’t know how and staff that doesn’t understand why their board doesn’t do more. In this workshop we will go over the basic responsibilities of board members and explain how to maximize their involvement in your mission.
Who should attend: Nonprofit board members, executive directors, and staff who support a nonprofit board of directors.
Outcomes: Understand the roles and responsibilities of nonprofit board members; Set new board members up for success; and move your board beyond basic oversight to governance.
Participants will leave with tools and resources that can use to improve their board. One participant will win a 90 minute training presentation at a board meeting.
