2026 HERS People With a Purpose Gala

On Saturday, May 2, 2026, the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation hosted its 17th Annual People with Purpose Gala at the Casa Bella Event Center.

Themed as a "Speakeasy Soirée," the sold-out event successfully raised significant funds to provide post-surgical products and services to low-income, underinsured, and uninsured breast cancer patients.

The night began in the Giggle Water Garden, where guests—many dressed as "Dolls," "Molls," and "Dapper Dans"—accessed the festivities by providing a secret password. The Mission Gold Jazz Band provided a live soundtrack while guests participated in "games of chance," including a new elimination game called Ace of Spades.

A high-energy auction featured items ranging from local experiences to luxury goods, with all proceeds benefiting HERS Assistance Programs.

Honoring Community Leaders

The centerpiece of the evening was the 2026 HERS Awards Presentation, which recognized individuals who have shown extraordinary commitment to the foundation’s mission. This year's honorees included:

  • Alameda County Supervisor Elisa MĂ¡rquez (District 2)
  • Dan and Rosana Kosin
  • Corina Haralson
  • Elaine McElroy

Impact and Support

A moving testimonial film highlighted the real-world impact of the foundation's work, followed by a "fund-a-need" session where donors contributed directly to purchasing post-surgical camisoles, prosthetics, and wigs for patients in need.
