Fremont Business Gala & Awards

Official Nomination & Voting Rules

The Fremont Business Gala & Awards, presented by the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, celebrates businesses, organizations, and leaders who contribute to Fremont’s economic vitality and community.

1. Eligibility
For business and organization award categories:

• Nominees must have an established business location or operation within the City of Fremont, California.
• Nominees do not need to be Fremont Chamber of Commerce members.
• Businesses of all sizes are eligible unless a category specifically states otherwise.
• Nominees must fit the eligibility requirements of the category in which they are nominated.
• A business may be nominated in more than one category when applicable.
• Self-nominations are permitted.
• The Fremont Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to move a nominee to a more appropriate category or determine that a nomination does not meet eligibility requirements.

For Chamber-specific awards, such as Ambassador of the Year, Board Member of the Year, and Executive Committee Award, nominees must meet the participation requirements established by the Fremont Chamber for that category.

2. Nomination Period

• Nominations Open: September 2026
• Nominations Close: December 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT
• Nominations received after the deadline will not be considered.
• Nomination volume alone does not determine the winner. Receiving multiple nominations for the same business or individual does not equal additional votes during the official voting period.

3. Nominee Verification

Following the nomination period, the Fremont Chamber will review nominations to:

• Confirm Fremont eligibility
• Verify the business or organization
• Confirm the appropriate award category
• Consolidate duplicate nominations
• Remove nominations that are incomplete, fraudulent, ineligible, or submitted in the wrong category

The Chamber may contact a nominee when additional information is needed.

4. Public Voting

• Voting Opens: January 4, 2027
• Voting Closes: February 4, 2027 at 11:59 PM PT
• Voting will take place through the official voting platform designated by the Fremont Chamber of Commerce and linked through the Chamber website.
• There is no purchase necessary to vote.

5. One Vote Per Email Address

• Each individual may submit one official ballot per verified email address during the voting period.
• A voter may select one eligible nominee in each category offered on the ballot.
• Submitting additional ballots using the same email address will not generate additional votes.
• The Chamber may use reasonable measures to protect the integrity of the voting process.

6. Duplicate, Invalid & Suspicious Votes

The Fremont Chamber reserves the right to review voting activity and remove votes reasonably determined to be:

• Duplicate submissions
• Generated through automated systems, bots, scripts, or similar methods
• Submitted using invalid, fictitious, or disposable email addresses
• Manipulated through other methods intended to circumvent the one-vote-per-email rule
• Otherwise fraudulent or inconsistent with these Official Rules

Businesses and nominees are encouraged to promote their nominations and ask their customers, employees, supporters, and community to vote. However, attempts to artificially manipulate voting may result in invalid votes being removed and, in serious cases, nominee disqualification.

7. Finalist Selection

• Following the close of voting, results will be reviewed and verified by the Fremont Chamber.
• The Top 3 eligible vote recipients in each applicable public-voting category will be recognized as finalists.
• Finalists are expected to be announced approximately one to two weeks before the February 18, 2027 Gala and may be featured through Fremont Chamber marketing and social media.
• Being named a finalist does not indicate final placement or disclose voting totals.

8. Winner Selection

For categories determined entirely by public vote, the eligible nominee receiving the highest number of verified votes will be the winner.

The Community Choice Award, if offered, will be determined by verified public voting.

9. Confidentiality of Results

Individual vote totals, rankings, internal voting records, and preliminary results will remain confidential during the voting period.

Nominees, sponsors, and the general public will not receive live individual vote counts.

The Chamber may share general participation information—such as overall ballots received or categories needing additional community participation—without identifying which nominee is leading.

Finalists may be announced before the Gala; however, winners will remain confidential until officially announced at the Fremont Business Gala & Awards on February 18, 2027.

10. Ties

In the event of a tie affecting finalist or winner selection, the Fremont Chamber will use a predetermined tie-breaking procedure. The applicable procedure will be documented before final results are certified and applied consistently to tied nominees within the same category.

11. Award Categories

Award categories may include business, nonprofit, industry, community-choice, and Chamber-specific recognition.

12. Integrity & Final Verification

The Fremont Chamber of Commerce will administer the nomination and voting process and verify eligibility and results.

The Chamber may correct administrative or technical errors, investigate voting irregularities, and invalidate submissions that violate these Official Rules.

Final results will be certified before the Gala and maintained confidentially until the appropriate announcement.

No purchase or Chamber membership is required for eligible public business categories. Duplicate, automated, fraudulent, or otherwise invalid votes may be removed. Finalists will be announced prior to the Gala, and winners will be revealed live on February 18, 2027. The Fremont Chamber reserves the right to add, combine, modify, or discontinue a category when necessary due to insufficient eligible nominations, category overlap, or other administrative considerations. Any material category changes will be made before final voting whenever reasonably possible.
