California Bank & Trust Mixer
California Bank & Trust Fremont branch (CB&T) honored a local non-profit on Thursday, September 23.
September is National Preparedness month. California Bank & Trust officers presented a $2,000 check to the non-profit group Youth Emergency Preparedness Council and raffled off a $500 donation to Local Ecology & Agriculture Fremont (LEAF).
Youth Emergency Preparedness Council
The Youth Emergency Preparedness Council (YEPC) is a youth-led, Benevity-certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and empowering teens. Through hands-on training, peer education, and youth-focused programs, YEPC helps young people build practical skills in three core areas: Emergency Preparedness and Response, Mental Health Awareness, and Fentanyl Drug Awareness.
National Preparedness Month Focus
Every September, CB&T participates in FEMA's National Preparedness Month by advocating for a specific type of readiness: financial preparedness. Rather than physically stocking emergency kits, their campaign educates individuals and businesses on building financial resilience. Their core advice focuses on:
- Building an emergency savings fund.
- Reviewing and adjusting insurance policies.
- Organizing and securing critical financial and legal documents.
