Día de los Muertos & Halloween Celebration – Chapel of the Chimes, Hayward
Chapel of the Chimes Hayward hosted its annual Día de los Muertos and Halloween Community Celebration on Saturday, October 31, 2026, bringing families and community members together for an afternoon of cultural traditions, remembrance, and festive entertainment. The free community event featured live mariachi music, Aztec dancers, Ballet Folklórico performances, traditional food and treats, local vendors, raffles, face painting, and sugar skull-making activities.
Guests also participated in Catrina/Catrín and Halloween costume contests, including a special costume competition for dogs. A community ofrenda (memorial altar) provided an opportunity for attendees to bring photographs of loved ones and honor their memories. The celebration offered a wonderful opportunity to recognize Mexican cultural traditions while bringing the Hayward community together.
